Otis Haines-Hopper

Hi, I'm Otis Jamal Haines-Hopper.  I'm the official greeter and I can't wait to meet you!

My Story

From what my humans tell me, I was born in Tennessee and taken to a high-kill shelter when I was a few months old.  I don't know what happened to my former family, but they must have had a reason to give me up.

Then a great group of people came to my rescue.  That group is called Operation Paws for Homes and they rescue a lot of my friends from shelters down south.  Then they help us find homes throughout Virginia, Washington DC, Maryland, Southern Pennsylvania, and neighboring states.

When I came to Baltimore from Tennessee, I first stayed with Gillian and Sam.  They were really nice.  My friend Coco lives with them and we like to play together.  After I got settled in Baltimore, I got to stay with Irene and her family until Troy and Trent adopted me.  I still go back to visit them sometimes and I always have a good time.

I was a little bit scared when Troy and Trent adopted me, but I quickly figured out they love me and I am really happy to call them my humans.  I love playing in our yard and sometimes Papa Troy calls me Gladys Kravitz because I like to know what's happening in the neighborhood.

If you come to the studio for a photo shoot, I'll be sure to say hello.  I love meeting new people.  Trent and Troy usually keep me on a leash when new people visit because I get so excited.  I like to jump up and greet everybody, but I'm slowly learning that some people really don't like that.  If you'd rather not meet me, please tell Trent and Troy so they can keep me in a different area while you're here.

Just make a funny noise and I'll come running, then you can pet me.
